The film that spawned a thousand sequels. Well I think it did. Much like The Matrix inspired numerous scifi/fighting actioners (from the West anyway, Our Eastern friends were doing it for years) this one reinvented the Spy Thriller. Even James Bond sat up and took note. The story isn't entirely original, but then the book it comes from must be about 30 years old, so who knows. But ever since this film, fight editing has got quick and in your face and the hand held camera is king!!! The best bit is the sequels are even better.Tuesday 5 May 2009

Yep - this thing moved the goal posts big time. Just a shame that the plot got head scratchingly complex at times in the follow up films. All we need are fists and guns in movies. Screw the plot say I.
I remember wondering at the time what all the fuss is about with this. I still find it a solid but unexceptional thriller. Even the trailer for Supremacy looked dull and I had to work up enthusiasm to see it.
Thank God, cause for me it's there that the genius Bourne style soldifies with the superior Greengrass sequels.
This movie does nothing for me. It's average at best. Bourne is such a dull bastard. I walked out of the cinema very dissapointed. I tried towatch it agian on tv and got bored.
Luckily Paul Greengrass gave a massive kick in the pants to the two far superior sequels.
Bourne is still a dull bastard though. Give me Bond anyday. Yawn!
